OUTRAGE AT "RACIAL PROFILING" AS BLACK MAN IS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

Columbia, South Carolina: The black community of South Carolina's capital city expressed shock and outrage yesterday at the second racially motivated lightning strike in a space of only three weeks. Benjamin Morris, 19, of Columbia was on the 15th fairway of the golf course of the Smoldering Pines Country Club at 3 in the afternoon when he was set upon, without warning or apparent provocation, by a large bolt of lightning.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Mr. Morris said: "It just came at me. It was like a bolt from the blue."
The Reverend Al Sharptooth, in town to celebrate the start of Black Paranoia Week expressed outrage but no surprise at the latest incident, as he led a demonstration outside the house of Mr. Sandy Bunker, the President of Smoldering Pines.
"Until 1989, no black members were even admitted to Smoldering Pines. This latest incident is just another indication that racism is very much alive at this country club, in this state and in this country."
The demonstration turned ugly, when Mr. Bunker's wife arrived and pointed out to Mr. Sharptooth that the club was not opened until 1989. Some of Mr.

Sharptooth's supporters started pelting Mrs. Bunker with golf tees and set fire to the house. Mr. Sharptooth defended their action, saying that this ought to give Mr. Bunker some idea of what it felt like to be a black man in today's America at the mercy of racist lightning bolts. No arrests were made.

MORE OUTRAGE AT NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES ON TV

.Black leaders expressed outrage yesterday at the portrayal of African Americans in the media. The outcry was in response to an episode of Law & Order in which, in the background, an African American man appears to cross the street after the "Walk" sign has begun to flash. The Reverend Michael Jackson expressed the views of many in the black community:
"This is a typical  attempt to portray young African-American males in a negative light."

Network executives were quick to apologize. A spokesman said: "This is a clear violation of our policy. We in no way intended to imply that any African-American has ever been implicated in any crime anywhere at any time in the history of the world. The last time one of our programs showed an African-American committing a crime was in 1982. It continues to be our policy to portray only Caucasian criminals."
